Many smart applications are being integrated into the 5G wireless communications technology that is being introduced. 5G specifications, on the other hand, strongly highlight the requirements of developing technologies. Data rate, capacity, latency, dependability, resource sharing, and energy/bit are some of the factors to consider. In order to meet these demanding requirements, scientists are concentrating their efforts on 6G wireless technology.

Different technologies and developing trends are enabled through communications.

A new communication system is introduced almost every ten years, increasing  QoS, adding new functionality, and introducing new technology. Despite the fact that 5G has yet to be formally deployed, experts are now focusing on the 6G communication technology. The reason for this is that 5G delivers a high-quality infrastructure that enables a wide range of technologies, including self-driving cars, artificial intelligence, mobile broadband communication, the Internet of Things, and smart cities. However, as shown in Fig. 1, the use of smart devices is expanding year after year, and data traffic utilisation will grow exponentially, putting limits on the 5G communication network.

Due to these limitations, requirement of a new communication system with increased capacity, extremely low latency, high data transmission, secure error-free communication, and full wireless coverage is emerging now. 6G will be able to connect everything, integrate various technologies and applications, support holographic, haptic, space, and underwater communications, as well as the Internet of Everything, the Internet of Nano-Things, and the Internet of Bodies.


Every communication technology introduces new capabilities and applications. AI, automation, and smart cities were all introduced for the first time with 5G. These technologies were, however, only partially integrated. More technologies and applications are being introduced with 6G, delivering faster data rates, high dependability, low latency, and secure efficient transmission. The primary applications, trends, and technology presented in 6G are depicted in Figure given below.


Apple and Google are currently working on their next-generation partnership, which is set to launch very soon. Google has created new engineering job possibilities in this area.

India has additionally commenced getting ready for the 6G network. Government has directed state-run telecom authority to research and development business enterprise C-DoT to begin operating on 6G and discover different futuristic technologies.

The telecom industries require the technical graduate for the research and design of a next-generation 6G wireless communication technology. They need candidates who are interested in technology and have access to radio networks.

Samsung, Huawei, LG, and a number of other businesses have begun developing 6G technology. The next generation of telecom technology is predicted to be commercially available between 2028 and 2030, and is believed to be five times quicker than 5G.
