“Change is inevitable Growth is optional”John Maxwell
Belonging from a highly versatile, evergreen and core background of Mechanical Engineering, I always feel very proud, not because of everything in this world in one or the way is due to Mechanical engineering, but because of the ever-growing and ever-evolving of Mechanical Engineering in diverse areas. One such diverse area is Mechatronics. (Basically, it is a combination of two words i.e., Mechanical and Electronics)
You may all be very eager to know, how Mechatronics has evolved the nature of execution of Mechanical Engineering. Let’s see.
What is Mechatronics?
Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses on the combination of mechanical and electronics and also includes electrical engineering systems and computer science.
How is Mechatronics used in manufacturing?
There are many advantages of Mechatronics systems. Mechatronics systems have made it very easy to design processes and products. Application of Mechatronics facilitates rapid set up and cost-effective operation of manufacturing facilities. Mechatronics systems help in optimizing performance and quality with great accuracy.
What is the scope of Mechatronics in the industrial sector?
Graduates in the field of Mechatronics Engineering have different opportunities in several industries like Robotics, Nanotechnology, Automation, Aircraft Engineering, Computer-aided design and BioMedical Systems.
What are the applications of Mechatronics?
With all the knowledge, Mechatronics engineers have specifically brought up different amazing features into the products they can work on. Few applications of the Mechatronics are: Cars are a great example, backup cameras, and anti-lock brakes all required crossover engineering skills to design and implement and into areas like automation and robotics are also full of Mechatronics engineers.
What is the scope of job opportunities in Mechatronics?
The scope for the job in Mechatronics is widespread in fields like automobile, robotics, aerospace, and aviation, transport, defense, manufacturing, telecom, metallurgy, biomedical systems. Along with this, there are other opportunities that are present in organizations like DRDO, ISRO, the Navy, the Army, etc.
Overseas in courtiers like the USA, UK, Russia, Germany, the demand is relatively much more. Job profile includes that of Robotics Engineer, Scientist, Research / Automation / Mechatronics Engineer Machine Designer, Control System Engineer, etc. The initial pay package can range from 2.5-5 lakhs on an annual basis.
In Sagar Group of Institutions- SISTec, our students are constantly getting exposure and knowledge of Mechatronics not only in the form of theory as a value-added course but also in the form of hands-on practice and they are applying the learning in their major projects.
